Concrete Construction

The State Government Building, Geelong

From the exterior this building seems to be made entirely

from concrete, while the concrete pillars look to be supporting

the building, the different levels are mainly canter levered.

An overall photo of Aquamoves facing Shepparton’s Victoria Park lake.


The roof is supported by a portal frame constructed of steel tubing, forming a 3 dimensional truss. This creates a light weight open and airy structure.


The roof trusses continues into the columns to form a portal frame for the roof. The yellow concrete tilt panel walling is connected to the columns.


Close up view of where the columns fix to the mass concrete footing. The footings are exposed and raised to keep the fixings off the ground.
