Deakin University new waterfront campus


This photo shows a small section of suspended ceiling. showing the rods to hold the plaster board and the services which the ceiling hides.


This photo show the rafters (universal beams) connecting to the precast concrete wall.


This photo shows the rafter and the 'CHS' connection to the mullion.


This photo show the precast panel fixed to the column using a 'UB' to space and fix the two together giving the concrete more rigidity.

This photo show the connection between to columns, one being smaller than the other. Steel plate used to pack out the difference between the two.

Pre cast stairs are used in the fire escape.

Edgewater Apartments under construction


This is the display sign of what the building will look like.

This photo show the base 3 floors under construction. You can see the props are still
in place on the second floor supporting the composite flooring.

This photo show that the building is constructed from both commercial flooring,
Composite and pre-cast.

McCurdy Road Construction


This photo show the different materials used.



This photo shows the opening for a roller door
also that not only the building is constructed of
'UB's but also used 'RHS' as a frame around the
opening. Angle is used as bracing for the 'RHS'.

Concrete Construction



The State Government Building, Geelong




From the exterior this building seems to be made entirely
from concrete, while the concrete pillars look to be supporting
the building, the different levels are mainly canter levered.
